Dinosaur Provincial Park Global Positioning System Information

Attention GPS users:
The last 16 km from the hamlet of Patricia to the park gate is NOT a designated Alberta primary or secondary highway. It is a two-lane paved tertiary roadway, marked as County of Newell route, PR 130.

Most GPS programs only contain data for primary and secondary routes, so PR 130 probably will not display.  Be aware that Secondary Highway 876 heading north from Patricia does pass the park’s western boundary where the Steveville Bridge crosses the Red Deer River. However there are NO services at this location. ALL visitor services are in the Park Facility Area, reached via PR 130 and the main park entrance.

To reach the park entrance and Facility Area using your GPS, enter either of these coordinates for the Park Visitor Centre:

Latitude: 50.759616 degrees North; Longitude:  -111.519104 degrees West
Latitude: 50 degrees  45 min  35 sec  North; Longitude: -111 degrees  31 min.  9 sec.  West
