Services and Facilities

Park Gates: Fish Creek Provincial Park gates open at 8:00 a.m. every day of the year. Closing hour varies with the time of year but generally coincides with darkness. The following are the park opening and closing times throughout the year.

March 1 - April 30 08:00 - 20:00 (8:00 p.m.) Spring
May 1 - September 5 08:00 - 22:00 (10:00 p.m. Summer
September 6 - October 30 08:00 - 20:00 (8:00 p.m.) Fall
October 31 - February 28 08:00 - 18:00 (6:00 p.m.) Winter

Picnic Areas: The following areas have paved parking lots, picnic tables, firepits (bring your own firewood), and washrooms. Refer to the washrooms listing (below) for seasonal openings and to the Maps section of this website for access routes information.

  • Shannon Terrace, Bebo Grove, Votier's Flats, Glennfield and Hull's Wood

The following areas have limited facilities:

  • Bankside (parking lot, picnic tables, washrooms - no firepits)
  • Burnsmead (parking lot, washrooms - no firepits)
  • Mallard Point (parking lot, picnic tables, washrooms - no firepits).

Washrooms: Washrooms are usually locked about one hour prior to gate closure. The following washrooms are open all year:

  • Shannon Terrace picnic area, Bebo Grove, Votier's Flats (east only), Glennfield Area C (west) and Glennfield Area A (East), Boat Launch, Hull's Wood, Mallard Point and Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre (closing times vary according to season), Burnsmead.

Seasonal washrooms at Votier's Flats (west), Glennfield Area B (centre), and Bankside are open from May 1 to September 30. Sikome Aquatic Facility washrooms are currently closed for the season.

Picnic shelter at GlennfieldShelters: Glennfield is the only park area with picnic shelters. There are three shelters containing tables with benches and firestoves. Area C - West Shelter is available on a first come, first served basis (unreservable). Refer to the map included in the Glennfield Group Day Use Reservations (2 pages | 274 kb) for location.

Glennfield Group Day Use Area Reservations (2 pages | 274 kb)
Starting January 4, 2011 you can reserve a day-use site at the Glennfield Group Day Use area. Reservations are accepted for the period between April 1 and October 31, 2011 and provide exclusive group use during normal Park operating hours. Group Firepits: Firepits suitable for use by groups are available at:

  • Shannon Terrace (located behind the Environmental Learning Centre), Glennfield and Hull's Wood

Sikome Aquatic Facility: Closed for the season for public swimming.

Boat Launch Ramp: Open year round as long as safe access can be provided. Park management has the right to close access if unsafe river conditions exist.

Boat Launch Parking Area: Open year round on regular posted gate schedules.

Telephones: A pay telephone is located at the Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre.

Information Services:

Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre: Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. until 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. (all year round). Trail maps, park information and an exhibit area are on-site. Stop by and visit our exhibit area. Phone (403) 297-5293 for further information.

Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre: Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Trail maps and park information are available. Phone (403) 297-7827 for further information.
