Fishing
At various times during the year, fishing is permitted in the Bow River
and Fish Creek. Please check current fishing regulations
for times, species, bait restrictions and catch limits.
Swimming
Sikome Lake is an artificial
lake created for wading, swimming and beach play. There is a treatment
plant for the lake water and the quality meets the same stringent standards
as City of Calgary community lakes. There are lifeguards but it is still
the responsibility of adults to supervise their children. Children under
the age of twelve who are not accompanied by an adult will not be allowed
to use the lake facilities. There are change rooms, concession stands
and playgrounds in the immediate area of Sikome Lake and beach. To protect
all lake users, only gas barbecues are permitted and they must be used
on the lawn areas only. The lake facilities are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
every day from mid-June to the Labour Day weekend. For health reasons,
pets are not permitted in the Sikome Lake area.
Cycling
Cycling is permitted on all the paved and shale trails
in the park (except the paved trails around Sikome Lake and in front of
the Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre). Please keep to the right hand side
of the path, ride slowly and warn pedestrians when you want to pass. Please
remain on the designated trails as using dirt trails damages the vegetation
and often causes erosion problems. There is no bicycle rental concession
in the park.
Roller Blades
There are many paved paths and roads where roller blading can be done.
Roller blades are not permitted inside the buildings or on the paved trails
around Sikome Lake for the safety of other park users. Roller blade rentals
are not available in the park.
Camping
Fish Creek Provincial Park is a day-use park only. There are no campgrounds.
Off-Highway Vehicles
Off-highway vehicles are prohibited in the park. This includes snowmobiles,
dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads and all terrain vehicles.
