Photography
The best way to preserve your visit to Fish Creek Provincial Park is through photography. Snow turns the white spruce forests of Bebo Grove and Shannon Terrace into winter wonderlands. Flowers abound on the south facing valley slopes throughout the park in early spring. The wide variety of bird species provides many photographic opportunities in summer. Spectacular fall scenery can be found at Votier's Flats in mid-September when the vibrant golds of the poplar trees mix with the deep green of the evergreen trees. Many of the wildlife species are most active in the early morning and at dusk, when light levels are low. For best results, you may want to use film designed for these light conditions.

Wildlife Viewing
Fish Creek Provincial Park is home to many different animal species. Many of these live in the park year-round because their needs for food and shelter can be met throughout all the seasons. Please remember that the animals are wild and should be viewed from a distance. To protect both the wildlife and your pet, keep ALL pets on a leash 2 metres or shorter at all times.

Picnicking
Picnic tables and firepits are located close to most parking lots. Washrooms, with running water, are also in most areas but not all washrooms are open during the winter. Firewood is NOT provided and collecting and burning deadfall is not permitted as it is a valuable source of food and shelter for many organisms. Liquor is prohibited in all public areas.

Walking/Hiking
Fish Creek Provincial Park has over 30 kilometres of paved trails and more than 50 kilometres of shale trails that invite exploration and discovery. Please remain on the designated trails: avoid using dirt trails that damage the vegetation and often cause erosion problems. Sharing the trails responsibly allows all park users to enjoy their visit and helps keep everyone safe.
