Kits are available, at no charge, to assist with program and badge requirements. Each kit contains a leader booklet with both background and activity information, the equipment required to complete the activities and handouts for photocopying.

These kits are for use ONLY in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Information may not be relevant to other sites.

Kits are booked in advance of your outing. Pick up the kit from the Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre several days before your park visit. This will give you time to become familiar with the contents and to photocopy the activity sheets that you want to use. Please return the kit within a day or two of your visit so it is available for other leaders to use.tree kit

TREE KIT: Contents include exciting group games and activity sheets for photocopying. Identification pamphlets provide information about the trees' appearance and survival requirements.

BIRD KIT: Identifying a small bird can be difficult but the clue charts, identification guides and binoculars in this kit do make it easier to identify the common birds in Fish Creek Provincial Park.

MAMMAL KIT: Mystery buffs will find new tracking cases to solve weekly in the park. The "Who Done It?" pamphlets and information sheets in this kit are invaluable tools for identifying the animal tracks and signs found in Fish Creek Provincial Park.

COMPASS KIT: This kit contains an orienteering information package, maps, games and a large demonstration compass. Six small compasses for individuals or groups are included.

BEAVER KIT: The information and activities in this kit are designed for young children. Kit contents include felt board pictures, fur sample, a beaver walk script and binoculars.

WATER CRITTER KIT: This kit will help make a pond study a learning experience as well as fun. A map shows suitable pond locations within Fish Creek Provincial Park. Also included are directions for doing a pond study and all the necessary equipment.

Please telephone 297-5293 for further information or to book a kit.
