Land Reference Manual

This website contains a complete listing of all lands currently under the administration of Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation - Parks Division. Land descriptions are provided for every site. Many of these descriptions also provide maps for information purposes only. These lands are administered under the Provincial Parks Act, the Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Natural Areas Act and Heritage Rangelands Act and the Willmore Wilderness Park Act.

Protected areas digital data is available in ArcView shape file format. This data set includes legislated protected areas as established by Order-in-Council.

Crown Reservations ArcView Shapefile (245 kb)
Crown Reservations digital data is available in ArcView shape file format. In the context of this data set, a crown reservation is a registered interest in land(s) by Parks and Protected Areas Division, to which conditions to industrial activity may apply.

A PDF format map of the Protected Area system is available for those without GIS capability. In addition to formally designated protected areas, this map includes crown reservations. In the context of this map, a crown reservation is a registered interest in land(s) by Parks and Protected Areas, to which conditions to industrial activity may apply.
